Turkish Cooking Class at Long Island

Another fun evening with lots of hands on learning It was a great evening with new friends and lots of delicious food. This weeks’ special main course was “Karniyarik” which is a dish consisting of eggplant stuffed with a mix of sautéed chopped onions, garlic, black pepper, tomatoes, parsley and ground meat. We also had “Sigara boregi” cigar-shaped pastry of paper-thin dough (yufka) stuffed with cheese. Wait not done yet what about dessert there was “Kabak tatlisi” candied pumpkin dessert. Our guests enjoyed hands on learning.

There was a lot more topics to talk about as well as Turkish kitchen. It was nice to see our students from last year as well as our new friends. At the end everyone enjoyed a serving of what was prepared and looking forward to the next cooking class. The environment was again a friendly and informative one.

Please join us for our next class on January 15.
